Benefits of CBD Oil
CBD oil (cannabidiol) comes from hemp. Many people mistake the hemp bud for hemp, but the berry is a completely different plant. Marijuana and hemp have the same scientific name, Cannabis sativa, but are not similar. Marijuana is grown primarily for its psychoactive cannabinoid, a chemical called tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC, for medical and recreational use. Hemp contains only one trace of THC, less than 0.3% compared to the remarkable 5-35% of marijuana.
With increasing age, the body’s ability to form anandamide and 2-AG decreases significantly. The proper functioning of ECS also depends on sufficient intake of omega-3 fatty acids in the diet. Many people have experienced feeling good or “great” after intense physical activity. The best mood is due to the release of endorphins. Researchers have found that endocannabinoids, anandamide, and 2-AG, have an equally significant effect on hunger, balance and strength, immunity, memory, metabolism, nervous system, sleep, and stress response.
The cannabis plant contains over 100 cannabinoids. These compounds are very similar to human endocannabinoids. Unlike THC, CBD does not target our cannabinoid receptors. However, it will stimulate the activity of CB1 and CB2 receptors without even exploiting them. Researchers are beginning to discover that dogs can benefit from using CBD and makes them relax easier.
Epilepsy
CBD is well known for a variety of wellness benefits. The most potent scientific evidence is its effectiveness in treating two rare drug-resistant epileptic disorders in children, Lennox-Gastaut syndrome (LGS) and Dravet syndrome (DS). The FDA has only approved the first CBD-derived drug, Epidiolex, for these conditions. In many studies, CBD has reduced the number of seizures, sometimes even preventing them altogether.
Pain Relief

Studies show that CBD oil directly on the problem area will help reduce pain and inflammation. The researchers also found that volunteers did not develop a tolerance to CBD’s effects, so there was no need to continually increase the dose. Unlike some pain relievers, CBD is non-addictive and has no unwanted side effects, so that chronic pain sufferers will find great relief.
